Biz Break: For Apple's iPad, a cavalcade of apps (from A to Z)

Today: A day before the iPad's debut, tech and media companies including Netflix announce apps for Apple's new tablet. San Jose's eBay launches a fashion site next week. The nation added jobs in March for the best performance in nearly three years.

iPad apps, from A to Z Cupertino "I'm a Mac" computer and "i" device maker Apple will start selling its new iPad at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Today, many tech and media companies are joining the iPad bandwagon with announcements they'll be offering "apps" for Apple's new device.

From A to Z, they include (among many others): San Rafael software maker Autodesk; TV network CBS; eBay; Redwood City video game publisher Electronic Arts; Mountain View location-based social-networking upstart Loopt; Los Gatos movie rental site Netflix; San Francisco mobile games upstart ngmoco; Popular Science; The Weather Channel; Sunnyvale Internet content powerhouse Yahoo; and real estate sites Zillow and ZipRealty.

Netflix customers, for example, who pay a membership fee of at least $8.99 a month will be able to watch movies and TV shows on their iPads with the company's new app.
